The temperatures leveled off this week and it was weather was quite nice. The fishing was outstanding for walleyes this past week.We are targeting them in shallow water and first and last light are the most productive times.Vertical jigging rapalas have worked best, tipped with a minnow. You should make sure not to have any other holes within a 5 foot radus, as these jigs fall in circles and will tangle up your other line quite easily

The fishing picked up this past week with the milder conditions we have received. The walleyes are still biting and I have been targeting them in shallower water.Congradulations to Norm Marion and team who landed a 41.5" Northern Pike last weekend on light line and a pickeral rig.Good luck to all and play safe on the pond.

The hard water season is underway and the fishing has been a touch slower than it was at the opener of last season. We have been catching mainly walleyes and still lines have worked the best.I would like to thank all the Ontario fishing.net crew for coming up this weekend and especially to T.J for getting all the troops going on Friday night.

The fall fishing is underway on Nipissing. The surface temperature is 60 degrees, and the fish are biting well.Rocky wind blown points have been productive. If your thinking of a trip up to Nipissing the season closes on October 15.Good luck and be safe

The fall aroma is in the air and the fishing will really come in to it's own over the next month and a half.We have been doing well for walleye and bass,I have been getting walleye's in deeper water, but as the fall season continues look for them to move back to the shallower water in search of schooling bait fish. Thanks to the many families that made the Shore Shore there vacation destination.

The lake has been extremely rough over the last week.I have been getting some nice bass on tubes and a chicklet jig.The walleye fishing has been fair over the past week,I have been targeting deeper water.

This past week I have been bass fishing and they seem to have the post spawn blues.I have heard the walleye and pike fishing has remained excellant. The bass have been hitting topwater and crankbaits.
Good Luck Rob

The bass fishing has been outstanding this past week.Shallow rocky water has been hot.Berkley tubes and jig heads have worked well. The walleyes are out in deeper water now and mid water humps have been productive. Now that the kids are finished school, make sure to take them fishing and create some memories that will last forever.

The fishing has remained excellant over the last week.We are still getting good catches of walleye and I caught some nice northern pike this week. The weed growth has been slow and if you find any patches of fresh green weed be sure to work the area well using a variety of baits.Keep you eyes on the bait as it comes to the boat for any followers. If you see a northern following your bait in,try to stop winding and let the bait fall as this can sometimes trigger a strike.Good luck and remember"Happiness is setting the hook"

The walleye fishing has been outstanding over the last week.Sand flats have been the most productive areas and watch the fish finder for clouds of baitfish. If you can find schooled baitfish, the walleyes won't be far away. The pike fishing has been slow due to the lack of fresh green weed.Hope you all have a great week.

It is with great pleasure to let everyone know the fishing season is underway on Nipissing. The walleye fishing has been O.K thus far and will only get better as the water warms up a few degrees.Jig heads and bungee worms worked over sand flats has been effective for me.Before ventureing out, make sure you have all necessary safety equipment on board.Until next week I would like to wish everyone happy fishing.

The weather has been a little more seasonally over the past week. This has been one of the coldest winters that I can remember. The fishing has picked slightly over the last couple of days. The walleyes seem to be moving up into shallower water and jig heads and small spoons tipped with a minnow and actively jigged off bottom is the most effective way to fish at this time.If your planning a trip to Nipissing to go out with an operater, you should pick up your own bait on the way up as minnows are very hard to get at this time and I don't believe it will get any better between now and the end of the season.Have an ICE week and good luck.

The weather has been extremely cold again over the last week, and the fishing has been tapered off as a result. We are still getting some nice whitefish and the walleyes have started to move up into the shallow water in the late afternoon and early morning. We have also received more snow over the last week and this has made driving vehicles on the ice difficult. If your planning a trip up to the Near North in the next week, make sure to cover any exposed skin as frost bite can occure in munutes with the temperatures we have been receiving.Until next week be safe out there and have fun.

The whitefish have been biting well this last week.I have some seen some nice catches and they are mostly all in the 5-7 L.B range.
A balanced tip-up,and stand with a two way spreader and small minnows have been the most effective. You must pay close attention and set the hook on even the slightest of movement from the tip-up.There is a lot of snow on the ice and the slush is starting to come up which has driving vehicles difficult.Good luck and be safe out there.
Bass Regards
